run cottage
The owners – Louise and Bob Meeres are very keen gardeners and put a lot of time and energy into making the garden area a colourful and interesting place to ponder and enjoy.
The cottage has one double bedroom and one twin room (all bedding and towels are included in the price).
The Old Byre’s open plan kitchen/diner/lounge is a perfect place to unwind after a days exploring, with stunning views out across the Hills (and whoever is cooking needn’t feel left out!)
The kitchen is fitted with most mod cons. including Microwave, electric cooker, washing machine and fridge/freezer and a bottle of wine will be chilling for you in the fridge on arrival and some tasty home baking will be provided for your enjoyment too!!
The bathroom provides an electric shower and there is adjustable wall panel heaters throughout the accomodation as well as a wood burning stove in the living/dining room. All electric and a supply of logs and coal is included in the price (extra logs can be purchased if necessary).
There is a patio area and outdoor seating for that lazy holiday breakfast outside and a BBQ and firepit available for alfresco feasting.
Being a working croft we run a couple of hundred sheep and several cows. We keep some very happy hens, a few bee hives and grow as much fruit and vegetables as possible.
As you can imagine, depending on the time of year we can have an abundance of organically grown produce which we are only too happy to share with our guests.
