The owners – Louise and Bob Meeres are very keen gardeners and put a lot of time and energy into making the garden area a colourful and interesting place to ponder and enjoy.

The Old Byre’s open plan kitchen/diner/lounge is a perfect place to unwind after a days exploring, with stunning views out across the Hills (and whoever is cooking needn’t feel left out!)

The bathroom provides an electric shower and there is adjustable wall panel heaters throughout the accomodation as well as a wood burning stove in the living/dining room. Twenty pounds of electricity is included in the price and a small amount of peat, logs and coal are supplied for your warmth and comfort. Extra logs can be purchased if required.
There is a patio area and outdoor seating for that lazy holiday breakfast outside and a BBQ available for alfresco feasting.
Being a working croft we run a couple of hundred sheep and several cows. We keep some very happy hens, a few bee hives and grow as much fruit and vegetables as possible.
As you can imagine, depending on the time of year we can have an abundance of organically grown produce which we are only too happy to share with our guests.
